Welcome to you to our blog. It will be a hodge podge of many good times, people and places, and as you can tell, things won't always be in order. I titled the blog "La Vida Loca" because that describes how our lives have felt for awhile-crazy. My goal is to use La Vida Loca to stay in touch with all of our homies as we start this new phase of life. That new phase includes moving to a new town. And oops, oh yeah. I almost forgot. It includes the new member of our family on the way! Cashew Calvin! He/she is now 20.5 weeks old--more than five months!
We are proud to announce that we officially have a new Casa Calvin. 2039 W. Main, Houston, TX 77098. It's a 1930s bungalow in the Loop, a half block off of Shephard between Richmond and Alabama. We can walk to great eateries, a book store, and an ice house. And the most important thing to know: it has a porch. With a swing ready for action. Cashew is going to love experiencing life for the first time while hanging out on that porch.
Sweet, patient Ted has braced himself lately as I've pushed out our moving date a couple of extra weeks to do a little remodeling before we move in. The big truck will arrive this Saturday, and Ted and I will finally move and live in the same place again under our very own roof after almost six months! We are going to CE-LE-BRATE!! Did I mention how sweet and patient Ted has been? Soooo sweet and patient. Please give him an extra pat in the back the next time you see him. A hug. A handshake. Anything. I think he might have opted to go ahead and be sleeping again in his own bed in his own house by now.
I must mention here that our parents have graciously hosted us and all of our furry family in Houston over the past few months. Have I mentioned how great they have been? As far as I know, they have miraculously not opened the door to let any of our three pets "accidentally" escape. You'll be happy to know that Ollie, Shipley, and Jill are doing well. Alice and Aubrey are even adopting our Calilco, Jill. At least they hadn't changed their minds yet the last I'd heard. Thank you Alice and Aubrey, Pat and Larry! Congratulations. You will be awarded as much grandchild time as you could ever want!
My camera is causing some technical difficulties with the current batch of pictures. As soon as I can I'll post new stuff, and you'll get a glimpse of the new Casa Calvin, as well as a look at the first fabulous remodeling phase. Stay tuned.
Much love,
Robyn
